NichePay NATS Situation Statement

NichePay, operators of sites such as Huge Squirt, today released a statement regarding the NATS controversy that is taking over industry message boards right now, we have it in full below for those of you who did not recieve it as an affiliate of the program or having excluded yourself from their mailing list.

As you may or may not be aware, there has been a recent security issue involving the breach of a default NATS admin password. This issue has been wide spread through many affiliate programs using the NATS software. Your security is of the utmost importance to Niche Pay and they would like to take this time to inform you that when this issue was first brought to our attention by their hosting company OC3 on October 23rd 2007 they took the appropriate measures to seal any holes in their system and make sure that your affiliate data and our members personal data remained protected.

Since it has become a topic of concern they wanted to issue this statement to all of our affiliates so you are aware of their internal precautionary measures. They are confident that this issue has been resolved using all appropriate measures possible to protect you.

Some of our measures include:
- The use of IP filtering to allow access only to approved parties into the NATS admin area.
- The use of IP filtering to allow access only to approved parties the access of mySQL.
- Too Much Media/NATS has patched their software successfully to help resolve any future instances of this and they have disabled all admin accounts that may have been compromised.

At this time as a secondary precaution they urge all affiliates to login to their Niche Pay affiliate area to change their password and confirm that all of the data in your account and “pay to” fields are valid and correct.

They apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause you, but they feel it is necessary to ensure the security of our affiliates. If you are unable to login to your Niche Pay account or you have forgotten your password please contact us directly so we can assist you further.

They urge you to make sure that any affiliate program that you are an affiliate of that you do the same precautionary measures and make sure your passwords are secure.
